what high school drop out engineered this?
I am sure that this product works as described (if you read the instructions carefully, and do not take liberties). When you need the instructions before using a power EFFING strip then that is a bad sign.
What is the problem? Well, if you plug this into an ungrounded outlet, whether it is not wired correctly, or just not a grounded outlet then this unit will SELF DESTRUCT!! WARRNTY IS VOIDED, IT WILL NOT WORK EVER AND YOU ARE F*&KED OUT OF THE $30 or so dollars you spent.
I understand the engineering philosophy that this device should not be used if ungrounded, but it should just not work unless and until plugged into a properly grounded circuit. THIS FREAKING THING WILL NOT FUNCTION EVER AGAIN AFTER BEING PLUGGED INTO A SOCKET THAT WAS NOT GROUNDED.
ANY DEVICE THAT CANNOT TOLERATE SUCH A LIKELY SCENARIO HAS NOT BEEN ENGINEERED WORTH S(*T!
I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN ANYTHING THIS PROFANE ONLINE. THIS DEVICE IS CRAP. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING. DESIGN IT SO THAT IT WILL NOT WORK IF NOT GROUNDED, FINE, BUT SELF DESTRUCT ... BU*LS**T!
From the instructions ...
1. plug into a grounded outlet only (again, who needs to read instructions for an effing power strip).
2. Plug stuff in
3. Turn it on
4. "If you hear the audible alarm, the conditioner has sustained permanent damage and is no longer protecting your ...." no longer effing working is what it should read! And by "no longer" I mean NEVER effing DID!.
I would have rated this -5 if I could have. It's a 1 because 0 isn't recognized as a valid rating.

Flimsy, much better options on the market.
I have several surge protectors and I am not a fan of this one. It works fine, but it's very flimsy, overpriced, and doesn't offer the same features as similarly priced surge protectors. I would get a BELKIN PURE AV F9A1033-12 from Amazon, Newegg, or Ritzcamera. That Belkin is an amazing surge protector that puts this one to shame, and it can be found for far less than retail. | |
