Flank your opponent, or hit him head on. Next-generation level design
provides multiple attack routes that let you decide how to confront the
enemy. Each choice you make requires you to use special tactics, from
sniping and demolition to straight out frontal assaults.
UNPRECEDENTED COMBAT OPTIONS
Execute parachute drops, armored assaults or SAS commando raids. Riddle
battlefields with tank shells and explosives. Drive tanks to topple
barricades and invade enemy emplacements.
TEAM-BASED MULTIPLAYER WITH VEHICLES
Intense multiplayer functionality has been built from the ground up. Up
to 24 players can battle it out as a variety of player classes,
including riflemen, infantry, scouts, and others. Multiple-occupancy
vehicles let you coordinate attacks with friends, driving while they
fire a mounted machine gun from the turret. The game's wide range of
vehicles include tanks, jeeps and motorcycles with sidecars.

PS3 Must Have!

It is a great PS3 starter!
Let me begin by saying, one of the other reviewers said this was a great way to begin your PS3 experience, I completely agree. I got my ps3 a few days ago, and it's the first shooter I played. I hope the next shooters I buy can keep pace!
To begin with, the graphics are ok but not really amazing. However, the story line and in game videos will really draw you into the thick of things. You'll really want to defend your colleagues, even if you don't think so at first. The gameplay is engrossing, and the controls, while not great, are sufficient. You will get many opportunities to use the sixaxis feature of the controller, so in that sense, it's a great introduction.
The elements of the game are comprehensive. You'll walk, run, drive, command tanks et al. I haven't even gotten to play the game on-line yet, so I won't review that feature, but expect it will be fun. My sole complaint is sometimes the AI leaves you to do a lot of the work, although you could just sit around and wait for them to do it. I might have to clear out a whole three story house with 16 Nazi's in it, my teammates will trail behind and shoot one or two of them. This is where not being able to give commands hurts, but I understand that wouldn't fit the nature of the game. All in all, I put two thumbs high in the air for this one. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-26
GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

COA4 is more fun
The game is good don't get me wrong it is also entertaining to play. The thing that ruins it for me though is the lousy way the weapons translate the way they aim. That is done mush better in COA4 | | Reviewed on 2008-03-12
Call of Duty 3
I got this game for Christmas and I love it. It is very short though. The hardest level there is in the game is probably the Fuel Plant or The Forest. You get to use your SixAxis controller alot. You are anywhere form sniping Nazis from afar with a SpringField or Pulling a Pin on a Nazis grenade (still in his pocket) and shoving him through a window. All in all a great game. | |
