Reviewed on 2008-06-12 Great shooter for hours of fun This is my second game for my week and a half old Nintendo DS. I love it. The levels are well thought out, it is very realistic, and the controls are great. First off: controls. The controls are intuitive and extremely easy to pick up. My friend played it and beat a level on hard the first time, and I hadn't told him how to play. The stylus, D-pad, and left trigger are all you need. It is very easy Graphics: I expected better graphics. The graphics look like something you would see in a flash game off the Internet. But I don't understand why everyone thinks that graphics make the game, because the graphics don't hinder this game AT ALL. Replay value: Personally, I would play this over and over and over. And over. Being able to fight against or alongside your friends is incredible fun. Doing the campaign again on a harder level is fun. The lack of Wi-Fi multiplayer is annoying, but tolerable. Overall, Call of Duty 4 for DS is a great game that I would highly recommend. You won't be able to stop.

Reviewed on 2008-05-17 its too bad im a lefty i thought that COD4 was a very good game. there are a few reasons why i think it could have been better. 1. im a lefty so i am not able to move and look around at the same time 2. it was a little bit to short.i beat it in only three gaming sessions. 3. i think the ending could have been better. the graphics were nice to look at. but most of all this actually works on the DS. i never thought an FPS would on the DS . so,if you dont have an XBox 360 or a playstation 3 and you have a Ds, get this game.

Reviewed on 2008-05-09 takes some getting used to this is a great game, once you get over the awkward way of controlling your character. using the D-pad or the 4-buttons, you can move forward, backward, and strafe from side to side, but to actually turn yourself left or right, you need to swipe the bottom screen with the stylus. the stylus also allows you to raise or lower your weapon, or to zoom in on a target. with the sensitivity of the touch screen, its not unusual to zoom in when you meant to turn right, or vice versa. to shoot or throw grenades, you can use either shoulder button. now if you can imagine all this detail combined and coordinated in the middle of heated combat, then you can imagine how it is to play this game. after you get the hang of the controls, your movement becomes smooth and intuitive and the game becomes almost impossible to walk away from. the graphics, animation, and sound are well advanced for a hand held console. about 80% of what you would expect to be typed text is actually spoken dialog. all the sound effects - from the gunshots, to the explosions, to the enemies screaming in excruciating pain when they are killed - totally immerse you into the game. the graphics remind you of how this game would look on perhaps the ps2. you have unlimited continues from your last checkpoint, you campaign is saved automatically at your last checkpoint. overall, it's a fantastic game. if it wasn't for the awful controls it would be 5 stars.

Reviewed on 2008-04-15 a must have for shooter fans with a DS.. COD 4 for the Nintendo DS is a bit different than its console counterpart. In this game you play as a US soldier as well as a British SAS soldier who must, in the grand scheme of things, stop a nuke from being launched by a terrorist. It may sound the same as the console version, but the levels are different and the objectives are different too. For instance, you don't ever do that whole "sneak through a courtyard in a ghillie suit" like the 360 or PS3 version. Or how you do the boat stage with the SAS as the first stage in the consoles, its like the 5th or 5th mission in the DS version. Anyway, it may seem like your average FPS but that is exactly what the DS needs. You'll run around with your team, shooting terrorist upon terrorist, hurling grenades to kill more terrorists, running up to them and bashing their faces in with your weapon, shooting rockets, firing humvee & helicopter turrets, running with a countdown to disarm a bomb... its pretty intense for a "game on the go" and will certainly keep your interest. Weapons include shotguns, AK-47, M16. MP5s, grenades.. and a couple of other goodies like some handguns, an uzi... you get the idea. Its also repetitive. You'll do the same thing over...and over...and over again. All the terrorists look the same, and when they actually yell from being killed, its an "Unghh!!!" that sounds the same from terrorist to terrorist. The music and sound effects are pretty boss though. The music is an energetic score that will keep your heart racing well after the fighting, and the sound effects are top notch and sound semi-realistic (atleast for a hand held system). There is no online multiplayer for Call of Duty 4 for the Nintendo DS as far as I know. And I have never beaten it, so I apologize. Overall, this game was pretty fun and definitely intense. It certainly helped kickstart my interest in the DS system, and to me is better than the console versions. I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Reviewed on 2008-03-05 Fun game for casual gamers I'm not a hard-core gamer -- I just like to pick up my DS every once and a while to relax with an entertaining game. This one is definitely a must-buy -- It's quick to learn the controls and very addictive. The graphics are nice and gameplay doesn't get boring. Check it out.
