Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-15 Excellent Blutooth keyboard for a Home Theatre PC I have used this product for around 2 months now and am really happy.
I started by using this as my home theatre PC keyboard/mouse, but have since switched it with a Logitech Dinovo mini and this is now used in my office. I connect my laptop to a monitor and use this as the keyboard. It works great for both work and presentations. The keyboard is highly responsive and the mouse is excellent if you are used to a laptop. I have used laptops for 10 years now, every single day, so it is not a problem for me. This is truly better than 99% of laptop keyboards.
For what it is worth, when I got this I also tried out the Sony wireless keyboard that is of a similar form - it is sold with their new TP series home theatre PCs. The ergonomics on the Adesso is much better, it is much more responsive and is lighter. The Sony has a heftier build and if you want to buy it from Sony Parts, it goes for around $250! The Adesso is an excellent deal.
The main reason I replaced the Adesso from my home threatre is because the keys lack back lighting and it does not have any of the media center controls or volume controls that the logitech has.
The product is light (which is good)to hold, but on the flip side, it is cheap plastic. Hence loss of one star. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-12 The best wireless keyboard! This is by far the best wireless keyboard I have purchased so far. All the other wireless keyboards, even the low frequency RF ones do not have the range and the all-in-one features that this keyboard has.
The built in touch pad is an excellent feature, for it is one less thing to have to get batteries for or loose.
Range is by far the best, where I could maybe get 5 feet out of the other low frequency RF keyboards, this one I was able to get 60 feet before I had to stop.
The only downside of this keyboard is there are no indicator LED's, such as numlock, capslock, and scroll.
The scroll feature is a great one to have, and I like it a lot.
If the keyboard does go to sleep, just tap the FN key a couple of times and you are good to go.
As far as battery life goes, I remove mine after I am done, so I really don't know how long the batteries would last if left in.
| | Reviewed on 2008-06-27 No custom setting options If you are looking for a keyboard/trackpad that can be customized, this is not it. It is a true plug and play unit, but that is all. You have no options to adjust for the tap speed or turn off tap completely. You can not adjust sensitivity either. If you are alright with no customization, then it is a ok keyboard/trackpad combination. | | Reviewed on 2008-05-31 worked great for a couple of months Worked great for a couple of months, then just wacked out. Now it will just pick a letter and keep typing it over and over.
Tried to email support, somone from another country told me to read their terms and conditions and send back. Too much trouble.
loved it when it worked..wished it would have kept working.
| | Reviewed on 2008-05-23 Cheap Feel, Terrible Battery Life I have had one of these for about 3yrs and have finally had enough of it. My biggest gripes are the cheap battery holder door, no low battery indicator, and terrible battery life.
When the keyboard has fully charged batteries it works well, the touchpad tracks great and it is very easy to type on this keyboard. The problem is, there is no indicator that the batteries are dying until the keyboard starts exhibiting very erratic behavior. The first thing that goes is the mouse, it becomes very difficult to track, and it takes longer to wake up the keyboard. On top of that, the numlock comes on automatically as the batteries die; try typing your password with the numlock on and no indication that it is on. There is nothing to indicate when caps lock or numlock is on, and it is very annoying when it turns on in the middle of typing something because the batteries are getting low.
Then the right mouse click starts sticking, and anytime you attempt to highlight something it starts opening windows or scrolling unexpectedly. If this keyboard had a battery indicator, even a little 3 bar LCD battery indicator it would be 10x better.
The other problem is battery life itself. I have tried 3 different types of rechargeable batteries, yet I am lucky if they last more than a few days. Although it cost a lot more I am going to try the Logitech diNovo Edge just because it advertises a 2 month charge. I'll be happy if it just lasts 2 weeks per charge.
The last problem is the terribly cheap battery door. Several times I have had the batteries fall out when I picked up the keyboard, or have had to hold the battery door when trying to figure out if it was dead batteries causing the problems or if the batteries were about to fall out. | |
