Not "Built" for Champagne
Like the new durable fabric and the heavy-duty 2-zipper top. Also, pretty smart to make the inside a lighter color. My only gripes are:
1) The Product Description and tags say that it is big enough to hold tall Riesling and wide Champagne bottles. Don't believe the part about Champagne bottles. Same goes for Pinot Noir. It is such a struggle to even get the bottle two inches into the darn thing. I was afraid that if I was successful in getting the whole bottle in, I wouldn't be able to get it back out. Either that or the stitching on the seams or the zipper would burst and...there goes $30. Couldn't even imagine trying to get two champagne bottles in there. I think the problem is that the new material is not as flexible as the old neoprene. I have the original One Bottle Carrier - it's a snug fit for Champagne and Pinot Noir bottles but it is so much easier to stretch that neoprene over the base of the bottle then pull up on the bag handle.
2) Why do the Over-Built carriers cost so much more than the original carriers? (about two-thirds more) |  |
