The Data Express DE110 is a rugged drive carrier and receiving frame
for internally mounting a low-profile (up to 1" high), 3.5" form
factor IDE drive into any standard half-height, 5.25" peripheral
bay. The DE110 supports SCSI Ultra320, Serial ATA (SATA) or
Parallel ATA (PATA) Ultra ATA/133 drives and is downward-compatible
with earlier-technology drives.
Data Express 110 Parallel ATA drive carriers can be used with Data
Express 110 Universal Serial ATA receiving frames, allowing
earlier-technology Parallel ATA drives to continue to be used with
a Serial ATA system. The Data Express 110 Universal Receiving frame
will not support SATA 3 Gb/s transfer rates. The universal bridge
chip will not, however, negotiate at the 3.0 Gb/s transfer rate.
Many SATA 3.0 Gb/s hard drives do have a jumper that allows them to
operate at 1.5 Gb/s and then could be used in the Data Express 110
Universal Serial ATA receiving frame. If support for legacy
Parallel ATA drives is not required use the Data Express 110 SATA
3 Gb/s units for best performance.

Hot Swappability
Provides operational flexibility in Windows environments by allowing
drive carriers to be removed while the system is powered up.
