It holds 1 gigabyte of music, or roughly 250 MP3 files from your computer, and is probably a total of like 3.5 inches big. Its also weighs less than a pound, and comes with a shuffle - repeat - or normal play button which I thought was cool. Additionally, it comes with a small white USB cable to transfer your songs to-and-from computers, and ON TOP OF THAT they included a pair of pretty decent quality headphones that are the type that go into your ear.
I have two complaints with this product. Like many have said, it's battery life is pretty bad. Creative claims that this thing can last up to about 6 to 8 hours, but in reality it lasts about 3 or 4 hours which is kind of annoying, but kind of acceptable seeing what the cost was and how much this thing can hold. Another slightly irritating flaw I found is the lack of any kind of screen indicating what song you are listening to. Now I know many of you are going to say, "but Sean, you put the songs on it, you should know what you are listening to" and that is entirely true.. but I listen to some underground music that I don't remember the names and if I come across a song that I really dig but don't know the name then when I get home its going to take me hours to sort through all my music and find it.
This little gadget is ideal for those on a budget, enjoy running, working out, those on a really long car ride, or some people who like to steal some company time and listen to music while working lol. Its really easy to use, real small, and honestly I believe it to be a good buy. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-08 good for mac too it is a very basic player- but since i havent ever owned a mp3 player, i wanted something i could make sense out of... i think it is good for the money, i got it on sale for 30 dollars and after taking forever to figure out how to convert itunes over to mp3's, moving music was never easier... i own a mac, so i had some concern over people saying "oh the player is only for windows" ... well, its just the software that comes with it works with windows, doing it on a mac was easier... i just plugged it into my usb port on my imac and dragged the folder over to the player and i was done! played great - i love the 'max volume' feature i can access on my brothers pc though, since the kids get ahold of this and want to turn it up all the way. | | Reviewed on 2008-03-01 Good, basic MP3 player... I purchased this player for my wife, who will readily admit is not a "gadget geek". The player has no "bells & whistles", rather its simple user interface is its strength. Upon receipt of this gift my wife thanked me for thinking of her but did not jump for joy. However, after I showed her how easy it is to download music & books to her computer and then to her Zen Stone she gave it a try. Within two weeks she was using it daily and has now told me she absolutely loves it! I do not think this would have occurred had I gotten her a complicated player. So if simplicity of use is your aim, the Zen Stone is your unit! | | Reviewed on 2008-02-29 i love it! - me encanta Me gusta este producto, es bueno, bonito y barato, nada complicado, facil de cargar musica, peque/no, ligero.
Lo recomiendo/. | | Reviewed on 2008-02-23 Functional, but limited I have not used this very much yet, but here's what I can tell you. For the price it is a good value, but I miss not having some digital readout that tells you what song is playing. Also miss that you can't just put in a battery when this one goes dead (something I never liked about the ipod) Also, the major limitation is the volume--it just doesn't get loud enough (I use earbuds) to rock out to the fullest extent. The good thing is it is tiny--like REALLY tiny. The battery seems to hold for a while. You can create subfolders within the file structure and you can skip from file to file (like playlists but not quite as handy because you have to shuffle through them blind) | |
