200-pin SODIMM.
A small outline dual inline memory module (SODIMM) consists of a
number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a
printed circuit board (usually green). SODIMMs get their name
because they are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs. The gold
pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide a connection between the
module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on
the front and back of a SODIMM are not connected.
200-pin SODIMMs are used to provide DDR SDRAM memory for notebook
computers. 200-pin SODIMMs are available in PC2100 DDR SDRAM,
PC2700 DDR SDRAM, and PC3200 DDR SDRAM. To use DDR memory, your
system motherboard must have 200-pin SODIMM slots and a DDR-enabled
chipset. A DDR SODIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM SODIMM
socket.
The number of black components on a 200-pin SODIMM can vary, but it
always has 100 pins on the front and 100 pins on the back, for a
total of 200. 200-pin SODIMMs are approximately 2.625 inches long
and 1.25 inches high, though the heights can vary. Like 144-pin
SODIMMs, 200-pin SODIMMs have one small notch within the row of
pins; however, the notch on the 200-pin SODIMMs is closer to the
left side of the module.

Reviewed on 2008-07-02 Memory upgrade I got this set to upgrade the memory in my laptop with which I run Windows Vista Home Premium edition. What an awesome change. I don't have to reboot every day and applications start MUCH faster. I use Photoshop a lot and it is so much faster. I highly recommend this upgrade if it is compatible with your computer. Money well spent!!

I checked the progress of the shipping daily and it seriously took 9 days for this package to travel less than 20 miles to my house. It would have been faster if I just drove there and picked it up from the facility myself!!!!! Never have I been so disappointed shopping on Amazon!!!!!!

Reviewed on 2008-06-16 2nd Time Around Was debating between buying RAM here or at Crucial till I found out this Amazon RAM was through Crucial. That mean I could apply my rewards! My first shipment the RAM packaging in the container was not sealed to the 2 GB chips bounced around the box all the way here. They did not work. But one RMA and exchange later another shipment arrived everything was up and running. The ordeal took about 2 days.
