BASIC SECURITY PROTECTION

Wasted 6 hours
The product just didn't work in most any detail. And things began to happen to this Vista computer I'm working on. Is this incompatible? I don't know. Their phone service doesn't answer. I bought it at Office Depot and I'm taking it back there. I don't care.

Crap product
I absolutely do NOT recommend this to anybody who has just bought a ps3 or plans to do any sort of prolonged internet work. This router likes to cut you off the internet after apx 4 hours of usage. Almost as if it just decides to give up as if to say, "You've had enough for today. I think I need a break."
I thought I was getting a deal when I bought this at $[...]. The cheap belkin router I bought for my mom at $[...] is more reliable. I'm personally going back to linksys because at least it worked for more than 4 hour increments.

Bought this used, and it works fine.
I bought this off Craigslist before I read the reviews. I was concerned that maybe I got ripped off, but I had ZERO problems getting it set up and running with WPA-PSK security in 30 minutes. I went to speakeasy.net to run a speed test, and my download speed is actually 20% faster. I am very pleased. My unit is a Hardware Version: B1 with Firmware Version: 2.02. I am giving this unit a 5 because of all the haters who gave this a 1.

This is the WORST DLINk product I've ever had! The lack of an ability to map IP addresses to specific MACs is a MAJOR MISS. If the box had listed this, I would have dropped it right then and there!!!

Disconnecting Problems with SBC Siemens 4100 Modem?
I got this for router for free after rebate from Circuit City with my new Compaq laptop.

I was able to set it up and connect to the internet but have had an ongoing problem with losing connection to the internet. The router seems to continue broadcasting signal; it is just that the internet connection is frequently lost requiring me to cycle/unplug the router in order to regain the internet connection. The modem does not disconnect from the internet and does not require cycling. The problem seems confined to the communication between the modem and the router.

There seems to be a compatibility issue between the router and the AT&T provided Speedstream 4100 modem. Perhaps a modem setting that doesn't jive with this router?

If anyone has found the fix; please post it because I imagine a lot of people with AT&T service who have the Siemens Speedstream 4100 modem and this router are having the same disconnect issue.

I'm about to the point of just buying another router. I've had this about ten days and I must have unplugged it to reboot it at least 30 times.
