Reviewed on 2008-06-06 Whatever ! I bought this DVD on a recommendation. I watched it and it didnn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It is not an interactive program that guides you through the set up of a new TV. Maybe if you are an installer you might get more out of this than I did. I cannot recommend this as being essential to set up a new TV. I found that the settings that others had suggested on product specific web sites were much more helpful and my TV looks great. I did not use this DVD for anything. If you are considering buying it, let me know I'll sell you my copy.

Reviewed on 2008-05-14 ok but not the best I picked up DVE BR version and was pleased with the amount of test patterns and ease of use, I assumed the HD-DVD version would be the same but it was basically a slightly advanced version of the orignial DVE. not all that bad but it could be better

Reviewed on 2008-04-24 DVE HD Video Essentials I was a civil engineer before I got my Master's degree and subsequently my M.D. I am usually pretty adept at dealing with technical issues. This DVD is very poorly organized and was essentially useless to me with it's lack of clarity in instructions. I will wait for DVE HD for Dummies to come out.

Reviewed on 2008-04-04 DVD Essentials Review Interesting DVD which allows you to understand the different elements involved in calibrating your video and audio equipments. Not as easy to use as you might originally think, but will pretty much improve overall picture quality.
