Disney's avalanche of favorites continues with Pooh's Top 40 Tunes, the companion disc to Mickey's Top 40 Tunes. This time, Disney digs deep for new songs--maybe a little too deep: "Hush Little Baby," "Billy Boy," and "The Wheels On the Bus" are fair game for a "favorites" roundup, but include "Comin' Through the Rye" and "Sweet Betsy from Pike," and the "top 40" premise starts smelling fishy. Also, Pooh seems to have taken a powder here--aside from "Rumbly In My Tumbly," the only other time we hear from the Hundred Acre Woods gang is on "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers." On the whole this is simple good fun, but for a right-proper British bear like Pooh, a few of these selections seem off base. "Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis" and "Deep in the Heart of Texas" seem better suited to a Yosemite Sam collection. --Tammy La Gorce
