Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-12 too much ink my family and business were fans of epson. my office uses approximately 20 epson printers. the 82, 84, 86, and 88, we used and we thought it was good. when the 120 came out we bought able 4 or 6 thinking it would be better. the quality is reasonable, but the thing that just sucks is that it uses too much ink. i don't recommend buying this printer. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-16 Epson Stylus C120 does not support Windows 98 I purchased the Epson Stylus C120 in order to experiment with refilling Epson Brand cartgridges and also for testing aftermarket brands of cartridges. The printer functions well using Windows Vista. I had intended to use the C120 with an older computer running Windows 98. Upon trying to install the printer on the Windows 98 machine I found that Windows 98 is not compatible with the C120. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-07 World's Most Expensive INK HOG! While the quality of the printing is fine, the cost of supplying the ink for this printer makes it the absolute worst printer I have ever owned. Buying the Epson C120 was a huge and costly mistake. It eats up the color cartridges like there's no tomorrow. Shame on Epson! | | Reviewed on 2008-06-04 EPSON or HP Printers I have had Epson printers many times over the years. I have also switched to HP Printers from time to time. I have always found the HP to print too much contrast. This time though, I have a lot of expensive HP paper left over and I can't use any of it with this printer. The greens come out almost black. I have yet to try to use Epson paper again. This is a different kind of ink which I think is good, the only problem is that there is not enough of it. The color cartridges are so small Epson had to use 2 blacks. This does not make sense to me except that all the money is made on the ink and paper. This unit is compact and fits nicely on my desktop and I can fold it up to keep the dust out. This is a fast printer. I don't care about fast printers, only accurate printers. This printer is okay for home use or for your home office. The HP printer I had before was a great wide format printer and lasted 5 years, but HP will not fix it and the new one is too expensive and the updates don't really justify the increased price. So this is why I invested in Epson again. I only wish I could use up my HP paper stock. What a wast of fine glossy photo paper from Hp. I only have $300 worth of it right now and I hate to through it out, but I like Epson. My digital cameras are Epson. So far I have not used this printer very much, but so far I like it and think it is a good buy. I just hope the ink does not dry out too soon. I have a Brother Fax Printer and it is a piece of garbage. I bought two of them. they both eat up the ink. And, if the ink dries out just a little bit, you get the replace ink sign. When you replace the ink in the Brother printer, it still will not work even with a new ink cartridge. I bought 2 Brother printers. The first one went into the garbage. It wants you to replace all 4 of the inks even though you did not use them. Otherwise you can't receive faxes anymore. I think this time I will try an "all in one EPSON". | | Reviewed on 2008-05-30 Ink is overpriced Watch out, no longer recognizes refill cartridges! The problem with Epson is the high cost of printing -- over 2x the cost/page compared to Canon, HP, others (ref. Consumer Reports).
Note ink refill is about the price of the printer -- a marketing trick!
The printer works very well for the price, but my Epson will no longer recognize non-brand cartridges, so I'm giving it to away and getting another brand. This will pay off after 2 refills. | |
