Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-06-15 good sound quality but not great I bought these headphones to mate with my LG enV2 phone and it has been a rocky marriage. It wasn't a problem getting the headset to sync with the phone. With the phone in my pocket, reception and sound quality was poor. To be fair, sound quality was much better when using the headset with my laptop. Even then, the quality was much lower than you would expect from even a modest pair of headphones. My standard iPod earbuds sound better.
On a positive note, answering a call, raising and lowering the volume, and advancing to the next song, worked well with the headset. Not the best product on the market, but you will get what you pay for. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-14 IOGEAR GBM211 The headphones are decent for the price. Audio quality is acceptable. The headphones have long battery life if played at moderate volume levels. This devices can only be charged by a USB right out of the box. Headphones are a bit bulky but comfortable. I would not attempt to run or play sports with these. I had good luck with the signal when the range was around 20 feet or less. I have not mastered the settings, but had difficulty with people hearing me during my phonecalls. Switching tracks is a breeze. The ergonomic controls are easy to use. I am presently having trouble pairing the stereo headphone mode with my windows mobile ATT tilt. I believe this issue is related to the phone software. I need to manually connect every time (can't just turn on headphones and have it auto connect when I begin playing a track). | | Reviewed on 2008-06-07 Yes and No This product seems to work almost flawlessly on my wife's Gateway laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. Not so much on my own HP laptop with Windows XP Media Center Edition, which is what I had bought it for originally. I have tried just about everything except getting a new laptop; I've downloaded and installed almost every HP Bluetooth driver I could find; I even tried non-HP drivers, to no avail. Ultimately, I can get the headphones to connect and its stereo audio service and hands-free service are recognized without much difficulty; getting audio to actually play through them is another thing. Attempting to play any kind of audio on the laptop will seem to be directed to the headphones properly, but the sound is intermittent. Interestingly, when I view the status of the device, it shows that it is in fact receiving a continuous stream of data while the audio is playing, but I can't actually hear anything, at least not consistently. Odd. Sometimes, if I catch it just right, I can get sound to play smoothly -- but I have to disconnect the headphones, re-connect and then initiate play very quickly; once the sound stops, though, I am back to off-and-on audio. Argh. I have tried disabling the hands-free service, as well as all other Bluetooth services, including my Bluetooth mouse, again with no positive results. Oh well.
Anyway, as I said, on the Gateway with Vista, the headphones work great -- connecting, pairing, and playing all seem to work seamlessly, and my wife even uses a Bluetooth mouse as well. I'm not sure if it's a matter of the OS (Vista vs. XP) or the laptop hardware -- the Gateway is very new, about six month old, whereas the HP is from 2006. Whatever the case, I can attest to the quality and functionality of these headphones when they are able to work. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-22 The most versatile headset I've ever used I am a data center technician and have long been frustrated that I was never able to listen to music without a headset but when I would do that I suddenly lost the ability to hear things such as IMs or my cell phone ringing. Of course you can only pair a bluetooth headset with one device -- until now.
I easily paired these headphones with my MacBook and my BlackBerry Pearl and they do exactly what they say. I can listen to music through iTunes and have the ability to hear IM alerts and such and I can control the music volume and track as well as play/pause all from the headset it's self. If a call comes into my cell phone these headphones automatically pause the music on my computer and allow me to take the call and will unpause the music whenever the call is complete. I am also able to place a call using voice dialing without going near my computer or my phone. The way this is able to work is these headphones support 2 different bluetooth profiles. One is the headset profile and the other is the headphone profile. Your cell phone will pair with the headset profile and your laptop with the headphone profile.
Aside from the incredible advantage that the above options provide the headphones are very comfortable and they sound great. I'm sure if your an audiophile who swears by Bose you will probably find something wrong with the quality but for what the normal mobile person uses these types of things for I think they far excel. Being surrounded by thousands of computers has always been an issue for me with the background noise but I am able to hear music just fine and I've had a couple conversations on the phone using these that the other party had no issue hearing me.
And beyond all of that... the battery life is AWESOME. I used these for about 8 hours in the data center and had it paired with both devices the whole time.... at least 7 hours of that was with music playing and when I left for the day the headphones gave no indication that the battery was running low. Oh.... and range is far better than any bluetooth headset I have used with my phone.... I've gone well over the 30ft range that it claims and the connection was still stable.... and this is in a building where the 2.4ghz spectrum is quite crowded. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-04 Extremely handy The headphones work as expected. Connecting them to either a cell phone or laptop is a breeze. Audio is clear and the microphone is adequate even though located in the right ear piece.
Only complaint with the unit is the range. This isn't a problem with the device so much as what is to be expected with bluetooth (from my experience). Don't expect to be able to go more than 10-12 feet from the paired device. | |
