Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-21 BEWARE!!!!! Power adaptor stops working l-o-n-g before the switch gives out. The product works fine....5 stars on the workgroup switch.
BUT the power adapter stopped working today in the middle of a meeting....zero stars on the power adapter!
I contacted LinkSys and after 1.5 hours on the phone, and 5 DIFFERENT PEOPLE later, I finally got a CustSvc person who could actually help me. (Their TechSupport group is absolutely useless! The TS rep kept asking me what I meant by the *power adapter is dead*. I felt like I was in the Monty Python "Dead Parrot" routine...are you KIDDING me?!)
We requested a power supply plug to be sent out, only to find out that they only have version 1 power cords available. There are no power adapter cords available for model EZXS55W, version 2 or 3. Mine's a ver3. (ver 2 & 3 powercords are on backorder with none expected in receiving anytime soon).
So I'm sitting here with a $20 paperweight. (gritting teeth and snarling...) | | Reviewed on 2008-07-09 Linksys is still pretty good! Installation was a snap! I wanted to connect a couple of things to the internet in my living room, so I bought this switch. Plugged in my DVR receiver, a PS3, and and IPTV STB all to it. No set-up or configuring at all. Just plugged in and boom, instant internet to everything. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-18 Always great This little switch is a great buy for the money, a lot of features in a little package. If you need 4 more ports, this is a great buy! | | Reviewed on 2008-06-02 compact, works great, easy to set up This is a simple commodity product that works fine. Tiny complaint is that the cables come out of the front of the box, would be better if they attached at the back. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-01 Warranty support is terrible I bought two EZXS55W units. One worked for nine months before two ports failed. I called Linksys to have it replaced and they told me I had to ship the unit to them before I got my replacement. I talked them into sending a replacment to me first so I could use the same box to return the defective unit. Then they said they would charge my credit card for the full MSRP until they received the failed unit, plus I had to pay for the shipping back to them. I refused, talked to a supervisor, and still no joy. The shipping would cost me almost as much as a new unit. This feedback is not just about the EZXS55W. It's about the company in general. They represent the typical greedy big business with their attitude concerning customer service and their products fail too often. I had two of their routers fail as well. No more Cisco/Linksys for me. | |
