| Product Description
| This newly redesigned Linksys 5-Port 10/100 Switch can significantly increase your network traffic's speed. A switch serves the same function as a hub in a network design - tying your network equipment together. But unlike a simple-minded hub which divides the network's bandwidth among all the attached devices, a switch delivers full network speeds at each port. Installing this cost-effective 5-Port 10/100 Switch can potentially increase your network speed by five times! It's the...[continued]... perfect way of integrating 10Mbps Ethernet and 100Mbps Fast Ethernet devices, too. All five ports are auto speed negotiating, and have automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover detection, so you don't have to worry about the cable type. Each port independently negotiates for best speed and half- or full-duplex mode, for up to 200Mbps of bandwidth per port. Fast store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being passed on into the network. | |

Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-04-22 Couldn't be any easier Wish everything worked this well. Plug it in and forget about it. Bought one and it worked so well that I didn't hesitate to buy it again when I needed a second one. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-06 Worked great with MAC My fourteen year old son used this switch to conect our Mac Pro, HP all in one laser printer and an old Gateway running Linux to an Airport Extreme. It worked great from the first try without any problems. | | Reviewed on 2008-02-29 Just what I needed! This switch is working just as I expected. I also have their older version which also still works. | | Reviewed on 2008-02-26 One of the few Linksys products we haven't had problems with In general, stay away from Linksys: look to Netgear now as the best value equipment that lasts and lasts. We purchased one of these before yet another linksys product failed, and so it will be our last Linksys product.
When it fails like the rest of them, I'm sure we'll be disappointed, but because we've already started buying Netgear, at least we'll have already left this formerly great company. | | Reviewed on 2007-10-07 Works Very Well Connected multiple gaming platforms to this switch and got a great connection - so far, very reliable. | |
