| Product DescriptionIn a perfect world, Good Luck Chuck would've captured the humor of Superbad and the raunch of the American Pie films. But what we're left with, instead, is a raunchy film with an anemic storyline. Cursed as a child with a hex that prevents him from finding true love, Charlie "Chuck" Logan (Dane Cook) finds that the women he dates find the men of their dreams immediately after they've dumped him. For a guy who enjoys dating beautiful women, it doesn't seem like such a horrible thing. But then he meets and falls for beautiful and klutzy Cam Wexler (Jessica Alba). Charlie wants to have a meaningful relationship with her, but how can he make her fall in love with him without losing her to some unknown man waiting to sweep her off her feet? Good Luck Chuck isn't an original movie; Cook and Alba make for an attractive couple that exudes warm chemistry. And Alba proves that while she may be famous for her body, she's quite adept at physical comedy. Dan Fogler doesn't fare as well. He has the thankless role of playing Charlie's obnoxious best friend Stu, a borderline perv plastic surgeon who proudly displays a set of Pamela Anderson's breast implants in his office (which, coincidentally enough, is located right next door to Charlie's). The dialogue is crass and the direction is all over the place. Everything is played for laughs, but little actually is very funny in this comedy. This movie actually could've used a bit more good luck. And lots more wit. --Jae-Ha Kim - Actors: Connor Price, Troy Gentile, Mackenzie Mowat, Sasha Pieterse, Caroline Ford

Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-24 So-So Movie Movie is very adult oriented with strong sexual suggestions as well as some drug use. It was an ok movie and I love Jessica Alba's work but I don't think I would have wanted to see this movie at the theater. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-11 Good Luck to Everyone involved with this movie... Mr. Bernabo and Ms. Richards wrote all the true words in their reviews to warn me away, but the opportunity to see more "on-screen Jessica Alba" was so overpowering, I went on and watched it anyway. Was I ever sorry!
Dane Cook and Dan Fogler are two of the worst actors I've ever seen. As best as I can remember (I'm trying hard to forget this movie) all of the humor was based on two guy sidekicks saying the most inappropriate words at all the most inappropriate times imaginable. I cannot think of a role either actor would be suited for. It's not even worth a review -- think of this as a warning to your entertainment welfare.
The writing for this movie was just awful. And lord knows I adore Jessica Alba, but even that darling couldn't make this movie worth watching.
An overall abysmal effort. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-02 Not great I honestly don't know what they were trying for. A romantic comedy maybe, but they fell far short of the mark. The only reason anyone would see this is for jessica Alba, but don't bother. Her part was so far less then what she is capable of. | | Reviewed on 2008-05-26 Awful film I'd give it less than a one star rating if I had that option. It was stupid, gross, hated everything about it. Just seemed to me as the movie was built around the juvenile idea of showing a man getting laid as many times as possible while showing as much T&A as possible. There was nothing romantic or even funny about this movie. Dane Cook is not an actor I will ever watch again but Jessica Alba was adorable in this horrible film and I am going to hunt out something else with her in it. I don't know if it makes a difference? But I saw the unrated version. | | Reviewed on 2008-05-25 Entertaining It's a decent movie to watch if you are just looking for something entertaining. Guys this movie is filled with great looking women starting with Jessica. | |
