Most bags are either UGLY and this style, or CUTE and purse like. The purse like ones you can't sling cross wise and often don't close. I am VERY happy to find something cute and with the big adjustable strap.
However... Some complain that this bag is too big, some too small. I think much depends on your computer and what you want to carry. I have a MacBook Pro, it is a tight fit. My computer does not fit in the included sleeve. But, even if it did fit, there is NO way i could get my computer in the bag with the sleeve on. The bag itself IS padded and I am not doing much rough with it anyway. So, with my computer VERY tightly in the bad, I could put some papers, maybe a paperback book in the bag. You could not put to much else. An apple or something like that would be right out. There is a pocket for a bottle of water and a cell phone on the outside. The other pocket areas are not very "bulgey" so large things would not fit. A big fat power adapter would NOT fit. Mine is 1 inch thick and fits OK.
So.. is it "too" small? I think the answer is fashion. One of my negatives about other bags is that they look "sloppy". Sure you can hold your lunch AND a bunch of papers and your dress shoes.. but it is ugly. With this you have to minimize what you carry and carry your lunch separately, but it looks really nice. I am sure the first time I take it on an airplane I will be annoyed by the lack of space. | | Reviewed on 2008-06-19 Disappointed While the concept is great, the execution leaves much to be desired. Sure it is oversize, but the form makes it bulky and unwieldy to hold the bag. I had to return the bag! | | Reviewed on 2008-05-14 Humungous! It's too big to be considered "cute"... I am not sure that the "coolness" factor is there, even with the maroon velveteen back and shoulder pad. The lady's head on the side of the bag is nearly as large as my own...I almost feel like I am toting her around! It's more like a small suitcase...perfect to stuff for a Vegas weekend getaway, though!
So, take heed to the dimensions of 16.8 x 5.5 x 13.5 inches. And yes, it is heavy at 6 pounds. A petite woman under 5'4" might think twice before buying it.
| | Reviewed on 2008-05-13 Gargantuan Camp Whoo, boy, I should have listened to the reviewers who said this bag was too big. My first clue should have been the size of the box it arrived in, but when I pulled it out and tried it on, it was ridiculous. Believe me, I'm all about the fun (the bag art was what cinched it for me), but this was like carrying a billboard around your neck for some camp (pun intended) for wanna-be female impersonators. Bless Amazon and its generous return policies -- they even paid for the return shipping of the item via USPS, which, based on the size of the box, easily could have been $15-20. | | Reviewed on 2008-04-10 laptop bag I like the bag, the only drawback is that it needs a pocket big enough to take a full size adapter. The pocket is too shallow. | |
