Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-01 A definite for Eureka Seven fans This game truly does capture the feel of the Eureka Seven character development and the unique way the writer(s) allowed things to progress. I heavily suggest watching the anime first and determine if you loved it as much as I did, because any game flaws just disappeared due to how much I love the story.
Story and characters aside, the LFO lifting and fighting is top-notch, with very few actual flaws in my opinion. It's simple, straight-forward, and fun, without needing anything complex to keep it interesting, but not simplistic enough to make it boring. There are serious flaws in hand-to-hand fighting, but there's so little of it in comparison to the LFO fights and lifting (both polished to a near mirror shine) that it can be overlooked. It really does feel like the lifting portrayed in the anime.
The game is primarily cutscenes, purely story-driven, with arena-style battles when appropriate. The game however manages to have 3 or 4 different styles of 'fights' and uses them wonderfully to unapologetically try to tell its story. As one who is desperate for a game with good plot and good gameplay, I was delighted by the way the game portrayed itself. I wanted to see more of the Eureka Seven world and characters, but not only did they give me that in droves, but also allowed my skill as a player guide the fights (most of them).
If you're not a fan of cutscenes, then you're probably not into animes like Eureka Seven in the first place. If you are, then you know how good Eureka Seven is, and how well it was written, so you know what to expect from these games. These games are definitely purchased for the story, but on top of that, you'll get to kick some butt in an LFO too.
Make sure you buy Vol. 2 as well. The games are designed to happen one after the other. | | Reviewed on 2007-08-07 Good Game This game will is much better than IGN or other sites review it to be, but I don't recommend it if you aren't a fan of the anime. It isn't costly, so if you're considering buying it, then you'll probably enjoy it. | | Reviewed on 2007-05-05 Great Game! The controls take some getting used to and the fighting is slow at first. Music is terrible compared to the Eureka 7 Series but still its a good game overall and much better than the Gundam Series.
The one redeming quality to this game at prevents it from being just average game is rift boarding. Like Skateboarding / Surfing in the air, spent nearly a hour on the tutorial zone trying all the different tricks.
If you are a fan of the series youll like the game. If you are new to the story id suggesting checking it out before playing :-D | | Reviewed on 2007-04-11 great game that ties in with the show This game provides the events leading up to the Eureka Seven show. You play Sumner Sturgeon, who's ultimate goal is to provide the mech named Nirvash typeZero to Holland and his crew. The graphics are great, but the gameplay gets a little repetitive after a while. It seems they could've spent more time developing the game (I noticed several small things like music tracks resetting every time a camera angle changed). If you like the show, you'll probably like this game. The controls for the mechs are layed out well, and I only wish there was a multiplayer mode. | |
