The genre-defining Nintendo 64 classic, arrives on the Nintendo DS
with allnew features that take full advantage of the new portable
system's dual screens, touch screen and wireless multiplayer
capability.
Each of the four main characters has multiple jumping moves that
cover great horizontal and vertical distances. Each has unique
moves: Yoshi can eat enemies and turn them into eggs that he can
throw; Mario can punch, kick and wall-jump to great heights; super-
strong Wario can break certain blocks; and Luigi can jump incredibly
high. Power Flowers give each character even cooler powers, like
invisibility, fire breath or the power to float through the air.
Answering an invitation, Mario, Luigi and Wario set out for a royal
party with Princess Peach. When they arrive at the castle, though,
they find it strangely empty. Meanwhile, Yoshi awakes from a rooftop
nap to find the castle eerily silent, with Mario, Luigi and Wario
nowhere to be seen. Yoshi soon discovers that Bowser has pilfered
the castle's Power Stars and imprisoned the Toads in the castle's
immense collection of paintings. It's up to the dynamic dino to
figure out what happened to Mario, Luigi and Wario and save the day.

Reviewed on 2008-06-21 A kid reveiw. I bought this game because my cousin bought and it looked like a lot of fun!And it is!The game starts out easy but get harder as you go from level to level.Read the directions! It'll help a lot!!! This is really fun any one will love it!!!

Reviewed on 2008-06-12 A remarkable transfer to the portable DS Mario 64 may still be one of the greatest third-person adventures on any game system - more than a decade after it was released. That said, Super Mario 64 DS didn't disappoint me, an owner of the original game. It's amazing that all that technology, that was considered cutting-edge in 1996, can be crammed onto the hand-held DS. But it is, and even features several improvements, like being able to play as several different Mario characters with unique abilities. The levels have been redone to accommodate for those abilities, and several new levels have even been added. The only gripe I have is that a game that was designed to be played with analog control doesn't always work so well with the DS's D-Pad. The control isn't always tight - and the DS version is noticeably not nearly as responsive as the original game. There are a few cheap deaths, especially for people over the age of 12 with adult-sized fingers. But, all in all, that can be overlooked as this is probably one of the best games currently available for the DS, particularly in the platforming genre.

Reviewed on 2008-06-09 Everything of the original plus more Not only was Super Mario 64 a lengthy game, but it offered lots of entertainment. I was glad to hear that the original was brought onto the Nintendo DS, just the direct port was good enough for me. But not only did they port it, but they added new stars, levels ( paintings ), and characters as well which seems to be a huge plus. Like I said, I would have been happy to just have the original game itself, but they added to it as well, and its even longer than it once was. Good deal.

Reviewed on 2008-05-04 OLD GAME GOES NEW AGAIN I GOT THIS GAME ON CHRISTMAS 2005. THIS GAME HAS 150 STARS INSTEAD OF THE OLD VERSION WHICH HAD 120 STARS AND THIS TIME INSTEAD OF PLAYING AS ONLY MARIO YOU CAN PLAY AS MARIO,LUIGI,WARIO,AND YOSHI.THIS GAME IS AMAZING
