But, what everyone says is right. The actual width of the wire is 8 gauge; but the wire itself is 12 gauge. You're paying for insulation. Also, the hardware is cheap and not durable at all. Save your money and get something else. Reviewed on 2008-05-23 Close Call The kit is working fine for me now but it is more like a 10 gauge not an 8 gauge. Reviewed on 2007-02-24 not 'real' 8 guage The wire inside the thick insulation is maybe 10 or 12 gauge. The outer diameter is the same as a normal 8 gauge car audio power wire, however it's mostly insulation. Very poor quality wire. Look elsewhere.
