great for Blackberry Pearl 8100, not for Sprint 8130
Speck always has great hard cases for the Blackberry line of phones. I bought a case for my work phone Bberry Curve (ATT) and was very happy with the case, especially the full-coverage screen protection. So, when I got my Bberry Pearl for my personal phone, I immediately bought the Speck clear, smoke colored hard case for the Pearl. As soon as I opened the package I realized that I should've double-shecked the pictures as the hard case would not work with the Sprint version of the Pearl 8130(Pearl2). The problem is that the Speck case does not have the proper openings on the side for the Pearl2, blocking the microSD slot and soft buttons(voice dialing-L, camera-R) on each side. Otherwise the case fit perfectly and without any hassle putting it on.
When Speck makes a Sprint Pearl2 version, I will buy one. For right now, I've got another brand. |  | Reviewed on 2008-02-22
Does NOT fit the Blackberry Pearl 8130
I got this case and liked the look of it right away. It was just what I wanted EXCEPT - it didn't fit my phone properly. It says for Blackberry Pearl, but once I snapped it together, the cut outs for the jacks and convenience buttons didn't line up. It was actually pressing on my left convenience button nonstop. Excellent case
Very good quality overall.
Pros: The case fits the Pearl like a glove. All buttons/jacks/holes are accessible thru the case. The keyboard and trackball remain exposed, and the screen is protected by the case. The case snaps firmly in the holster, which rotates 360 degrees with a sturdy ratchet.
Cons: None really. You can attach the Pearl to the holster with keys facing forward or backward, but when facing backward there is a tendency for the holster clip to push on the keys. | |
