Reviewed on 2008-07-11when it works, it works This product is very good at cooling my laptop when it is working, but it frequently stops for no discernible reason. Moving it even just a little will usually start it again, but it may only stay on for a few seconds a time. At other times it will run for hours, but the constant adjusting that is so often necessary makes using it a pain.
Reviewed on 2008-07-01Effective but fragile My first one of these didn't last very long, but it was effective enough that I'm buying another. The problem was with the connector jack on the back of the unit -- it shifted out of place and the thing won't work anymore.
This model is an improvement in performance over the previous model, the Targus PA248U, but a step backward in durability. And that one wasn't very durable to begin with. I have been going through at least 1-2 of those per year. Plus needing new cords.

Reviewed on 2008-06-06Won't stay on This is the worst product I've ordered in a long time. The chill pad connects with a plug-in cable on the back and to the computer with usb port. The plug-in that goes to the back will not stay in place. It's like they sent the wrong cord the fit is so bad. It wiggles all over the place no matter what you do. Find another brand as this one is really bad.

My only complaint is that these coolers are generally noisy. My friend has a different cooler but it is just as noisy. Maybe notebooks are not meant to replace desktops.
