The NT video game uses the same dark and dangerous environments and
adventurous themes featured in the new NT CGI film being developed
by Imagi Animation Studios and Mirage Licensing. The NT movie takes
place in a New York City plagued by secretive villains and strange,
otherworldly creatures. Faced with these perils, the Turtles will
experience their most trying time as heroes and as a family, as
Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo lose their focus and struggle
to maintain their unity and ninja discipline. In the movie and in
the highly immersive video game adventure, it's up to Leonardo and
the faithful father figure Splinter to reunite the band of brothers
and save New York City from a monstrous evil that lurks around
every corner. Video game players will engage in over-the-top
acrobatic navigation, collaborative combat and powerful fighting
moves.

Reviewed on 2008-02-29 great game i bought this game for my 9 year old, he loves it. i thought it sucked. but i starded to play it and its very fun i couldn't stop playing it. i got 20% of it passed in about 2 hours. some missions are very easy others kinda hard. the special moves are pretty cool. great game for 20 dollars. the only thing that it lacks is multiplayer i wish i could play with my son.

Reviewed on 2007-04-10 Movie Tie-In TMNT is a tie-in to the film by the same name and is part of the marketing campaign to relaunch the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES franchise. The basic storyline of the game attempts to explain what each of the turtles were doing before the events in the TMNT movie began. Somewhere between halfway and two-thirds of the way through the game, events in the game begin to simulate scenes and events from the movie, though with a slightly different twist. For example, when Leonardo is captured the brothers have to fight through Max Winters huge office complex, but instead of being in a giant cylinder container, Leo is found locked up in a cell in the basement. Also, unlike the film, Casey Jones and April O'Neil do not appear and are barely mentioned. The overall graphics of the game is impressive. The game is definitely patterned after the film and captures many of the beautiful images of the movie, but in more detail. Also impressive with this game are some of the moves the Turtles are capable of performing. For instance, all of the Turtles can climb across walls. Also, after an initial level for each of the brothers, most of the levels allow the player to switch back and forth between brothers. They each have a special move that they use in combination with one of their brothers that is quite powerful. Using these moves are important in unlocking many of the extras of the games because the player receives shell points based upon grades they receive at the end of each level for fighting, speed, coin retrieval, and teamwork. That's the positive stuff. The game also has some negatives that cancel out the overall playing experience. The main complaint is the overall control of the characters. TMNT involves a great deal of jumping, climbing, leaping, etc. There were many, many times during the game that the characters did not perform the action they were supposed to. Usually this was a nuisance, but at other times it became critical. For instance, there are a couple instances in the game where the only way to continue forward is when the Turtle (usually either Leo or Raphael) have to leap between buildings in a narrow space resembling a chimney in order to reach the top of a rough or ledge. This doesn't seem difficult, but it is because the characters on the screen fail to follow the moves of the controller. Ordinary I would say this is a because of a lack of skills of the player, but my brother and his roommates had just as much difficulty with these levels as I did. Instead of jumping from left to right as the Turtles should do (and do do most of the game) they end up jumping backwards and leaping of the edge. It is quite frustrating and makes it very difficult to get through the level in a short amount of time. TMNT is also pretty much a platform game broken up by bits of fighting. I didn't mind it so much because I like platform games, but some people might get the impression that this is largely a fighting/action game. Finally, the game is only available for one person play. There are scenes in the game and battles that would be quite fun to play against another player if the option was available. Overall, TMNT isn't a bad game. The graphics are great and the overall storyline isn't bad. Just be aware that there are a few kinks here and there that might be frustrating to get through. It's not a bad game in the relaunch of a franchise, but here's hoping that the next game will be even better.

Reviewed on 2007-03-28 Probably one of the best TMNT games yet! This TMNT game is probably one of the best yet! It has awesome features including unlockables, challenge map levels, and great gameplay. This is what I liked about it: First off, I loved how you could use cool ninja moves such as running across the walls and jumping from wall to wall to get to a higher area. I also liked how you could use the collaborative moves with the other turtles. What I didn't like about it was: sometimes, the controller would be a bit unresponsive. I also didn't like the challenge map levels. They look like something that would come out of "TRON". To conclude, I do like this game, but it is a little bit tricky to play. Even though I beat it quickly, it was a little frustrating at times. Other than that, it was GREAT!
