Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-23 Don/t Buy This DVD is a real time waster. Don't buy it. It's the worst I've seen for forcing you to watch all their ads and promos before you get to the film. Buying it will only encourage Universal to make more DVDs like this one. Rent it or borrow it from a library instead. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-21 Great Chase Movie Just saw this movie this past weekend.
I thought it was one of all time great chase movies. Reminded me of the French Connection in several places because of the great photography of the chase scenes with great location shooting throughout Europe.
The movie starts with little exposition. If you watch the extra on filming in Berlin first, it explains that this movie starts 5 minutes after the second movie ended. I had not seen the second movie in several years.
More of a chase movie than a plot movie, but I thought it was fantastic. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-11 Pretty much the same film as the previous two Incomprehensibly filmed and edited, The Bourne Ultimatum is basically a variation of The Bourne Supremacy, which itself was a remake of The Bourne Identity. Ultimatum follows the exact same formula as those films, with Bourne being hunted by his superiors and then bringing them to justice.
As expected, there's a claustrophoic fist fight, a car chase, a foot chase, and many scenes with Bourne outmanuevering his pursuers. There's also a Tangiers rooftop escape that was stolen straight out of the James Bond film The Living Daylights.
What makes Ultimatum better than Supremacy? Simply put, it's more exciting and the action sequences are better-staged. Ultimatum is not a bad film, but it still pales in comparison to Doug Liman's first Bourne film. | | Reviewed on 2008-07-10 The Bourne Ultimatum A Walk Through LifeJason Bourne gets revenge with a vengeance!
This is a great third installment filled with action and adrenalin!
Matt Damon returns as highly trained assasin Jason Bourne, who is on the hunt for the agents who stole his memory and true identity. With a new generation of skilled CIA operatives tracking his every move, Bourne is in a non stop race around the globe as he finally learns the truth behind his myserious past. If you have not seen the first two movies Bourne identity and Bourne supremacy you're missing out!
| | Reviewed on 2008-06-21 Best of the Bournes "Ultimatum" is mostly a nonstop, slam-bang action movie with some eye-popping chases and a well-staged fight scene. This is both its strength and its weakness - it is fun to watch, but ultimately no more believable than a Wile E. Coyote cartoon. If you've seen the first two installments in the series, this final entry is well worth your while, and you might enjoy it even if you haven't seen the prior segments. | |
