| Product DescriptionOne of Hilary Duff's most attractive qualities is that she's not a borderline anorexic like too many Hollywood starlets; she has a warm, full-bodied presence that makes her dangerously glossy prettiness accessible. Similarly, Heather Locklear--who's been an iconic plastic blonde on television for decades--is cultivating a bruised humanity as she matures. These two combine forces in The Perfect Man, a curious teen comedy/adult romance hybrid about a single mother named Jean (Locklear, Melrose Place) whose tactic for getting over a broken heart is to move to a different part of the country, uprooting her two daughters Holly and Zoe (Duff, Cheaper by the Dozen, and newcomer Aria Wallace) in the process. Holly, to keep her mother from falling into another desperate and doomed relationship, uses advice from a schoolfriend's uncle (Chris Noth, Sex and the City) to send Jean flowers and love letters from a secret admirer. Of course, sustaining this fantasy requires some wacky antics, but The Perfect Man balances goofiness with an emotional mother/daughter tug-of-war and has some entertaining supporting actors (including Caroline Rhea, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Carson Kressley, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy). The plot, however, has holes so big that it collapses even as it unfolds. --Bret Fetzer - Actors: Hilary Duff, Heather Locklear, Chris Noth, Mike O'Malley, Ben Feldman

Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-07-16 I Loved It.... I so loved it, this movie has a lesson to be learned, and it was taught very well. I'm a huge fan of Hilary Duff, and her sister, and i think this movie was the bomb, off the hook. :) | | Reviewed on 2008-02-03 Mermaids Redux Very similar to the 1989 movie Mermaids with Cher and Winona Ryder. This teen romantic comedy stars the genetically blessed mother-daughter duo of Heather Locklear and Hillary Duff. Mom moves every time she breaks up with a guy and when the trio arrive in Brroklyn, Duff's character wants to stay now. Her and her new friend create a fake online beau for mom to stay in town until the gag goes out of hand. Turns out the friend's bachelor uncles is a perfect match for mom while a cute classmate jsut may be what the overprotective daughter needs. A cute comedy about playing around with match.com and how running away never solves your problems. | | Reviewed on 2007-10-18 Surprisingly good Although overall on the cute side, the story is a lot better than expected. First of all, it gets points for being upbeat and having a good message (unlike so much other trash etched onto metal). Some parts are almost philosophical in how the mother has to come to terms with her opinion of herself. Some interesting twists and symmetries in the overall arc of the story, although the ending was a bit too "perfect". Refreshingly, apparently nice guys do still exist. | | Reviewed on 2007-08-23 Stupendous This item was exactly as the profile said. Was in absolute great condition and arrived on time. | | Reviewed on 2007-06-13 The Perfect Man The Perfect Man $12.99

The Perfect Man is about a girl, Holly Hamilton (Hillary Duff), her mother, Jean Hamilton (Heather Locklear). The main idea that happens is well, the Hamilton family moves around a lot. Not because they don't like where they are, it's because when-ever Jean (Locklear) doesn't find the perfect man she ends up hooking up with some loser, "some guy that isn't even good enough to mop the floors" (said by Hillary Duff in the movie) and when it doesn't work out because it basically never works out they pack up and move again. Holly (Duff) is getting sick of moving around and doesn't want to anymore. So when she meets her new friend's uncle, she makes up a man based on her friend's uncle that sends her flowers, notes, presents and more, but when she finally makes the plan to have her meet him they can't meet because she sent her mom a picture of the secret admirer and he has no idea that this happening.
I think this is a good movie because I like things that are funny and heartwarming and this id that kind of movie. I also think it is exciting because you never know what Holly (Duff) is going to do to trick her mother next.
I would recommend this movie for kids about 8 to adult. It is the kind of movie that any age girl would like to watch. So, watch this movie and learn how to be a good member of your' family. | |
