Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2008-06-14 A Piece of Junk...no question about it I purchased this item over a year ago. The first 30 days it worked fine then it was down hill from there. Contacted the manufacturer returned the non functioning camera. Got a new camera, appeared to be functioning. Today I went to put the "new" camera to work and alas it discharged the batteries and with installation of new batteries the "new" camera is not functional. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! | | Reviewed on 2008-02-25 Neat Gadget! I received this item as a thoughtful Christmas gift by a family member who knew of me and my wife leaving food for nighttime critters on our back deck. Often the food would be gone and we'd have no way of knowing who took it. Now, with this camera, we are able to see who comes and goes during the night.
The flash is powerful and at times I have partially or fully covered it with some masking tape in order to supress some light for picture taking inside our small shed.
The image quality is not very good but we're not taking pictures for quality, just to see who is around, and with this camera we can do that.
We've only had it a couple of months so I can't comment on what "Dennis" said in his review other than we've not had any problems with it so far.
We bought a 1GB SD card from Newegg for $6.00 (Patriot brand), it works fine in the camera and provides more space than we'll ever need. | | Reviewed on 2008-01-18 DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK Hi fellow hunters.
I have had this camera for less than 1 year and have nothing but problems with it.
I added a 128mb flash card, it worked for about 90 days, just what the warranty was.
It now needs formatting every time I connect the camera to my PC. Thus with 200 plus pictures on the LCD display just today, I loose everything every time I connect it.
MAJOR CPU problem. Not just the Flash card, this also happens to the internal memory !!!
I contacted Wildview customer service, being an engineer I described the problems to them.
OH I AM SORRY YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE 90 DAY WARRANTY
Now I must THROW IT OUT
What a waste of money. DO NOT BUY ONE. TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, I would even be critical of any product they manufacture
Dennis | | Reviewed on 2007-10-28 Simple unit is easy to use This camera is easy to set up and simple use. No complicated applications to figure out. I have used it for a week in the rain (protected by trees). It remained dry and the batteries still good. Most of the pictures were very good. There were a few unexplained "white-outs". I positioned it towards a feral cat feeding station to see who was coming to eat. I was able to tell each cat apart at a fifteen foot distance taken in pitch darkness in rainy weather. And it captured quite a few deer photo's. The program to install is very simple. Plug in the USB cord and you have your pictures come up on the computer screen. The internal memory hold 14 pictures or you can use your own picture card. All in all, a good camera, maybe slightly overpriced. | |
