Customer ReviewsReviewed on 2007-07-12 3rd times a charm I guess This is my third time trying to rate this garbage ppv. I usually rate each match. However amazon loves to post predictions and true reviews somtimes don't even see the light of day. So not to waste too much of my time again. I'll just tell why this crap ppv should be avoided. 1st of all there is no memorable matches except for the ECM. What makes it memorable is Kurt Angle being eliminated first. Chris Masters being cheered over Cena. And Edge becoming champion. But not in a good way. Edge being booked to win in such an incredibly cowardly way most likely should take this moment away from him. Cashing in the MITB to take out an already beat up Cena should be criminal. Especially the way Edge bust his a** in this company. | | Reviewed on 2007-01-01 WWE New Years Revolution WWE Championship: John Cena vs Umaga

| | Reviewed on 2006-12-01 How It Should Have Been NYR'06 was a good PPV, but it would have been better if it were like this:
M1: Angle vs. Michaels (60 Minute Ironman Match): What a way to end the feud. Their other three matches were amazing (and so was their fourth one), but this one would have been a definite MOTY. This would have been perfect and would have gotten a definite ***** rating. (60 mins.)
M2: Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus: This would have been the only DUD on the card as Mickie just lies down for Trish. (less than 1 min)
M3: Edge vs. Ric Flair (TLC Match): I would have just moved their great match from Raw to here. It was so good, definitely one of the best of the night. ****1/4 (15 mins)
M4: Shelton Benjamin vs. Rob Van Dam: This would have been another MOTY candidate, their match at Backlash was great but this one would have been more fast paced. ****1/2 (15 mins)
M5: Chavo Guerrero vs. Gregory Helms: A Raw cruserweight match!! This would have been great, Guerrero is one of the best (just like his uncle), and Helms is a great wrestler as well, a **** outing (8 mins)
M6: John Cena vs. Chris Masters vs. Triple H vs. Big Show vs. Kane vs. Edge (replacing Carlito)(Elimination Chamber Match): Edge takes out Carlito backstage and tells Vince hes cashing in MITB. This would have been much better. Highlights would have been Show/Kanes power domination, Edges high flying moves, glass breaking, steel being broken, people leaving the chamber and going on top. Edges dive off the titantron, Triple H's fall off the cage, barbed wire tearing everyone apart. Would have been one of the most brutal fights ever. A ***** Match (40 mins.) | | Reviewed on 2006-11-28 NYR 2007 Predictions These are my predictions for next years show, not actual matches. The show was scheduled to be in St. Louis, Missouri (Randy Orton's hometown area) but may now have changed to Kansas City, Missouri - either way is Orton's home town.
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
JOHN CENA (C) VS. 'THE UNDEFEATED SAMOAN BULLDOZER' UMAGA
Should be a solid match, with Cena losing via DQ after he hits Umaga with a Steel Chair or something. Umaga is a good wrestler/ brawler when he actual gets a match that lasts more than three minutes. I'd love to see Umaga as the WWE Champion, but he will only win by DQ and will get a No DQ rematch at the Royal Rumble. Umaga's undefeated streak will end at the Rumble following a screw-job - maybe from Kennedy, Booker or Undertaker from SmackDown! (Umaga will then face one of them at WrestleMania 23)
WINNER & STILL UNDEFEATED: 'THE SAMOAN BULLDOZER' UMAGA (VIA DQ)
2-OUT-OF-3 FALLS MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
RATED RKO (ORTON & EDGE) (C) VS. D-GENERATION X
Cyber Sunday was a good night for the 'Legend Killer' and the 'Rated R Superstar' as they successfully defeated D-X. Survivor Series, however, was an embarassment of a match and a huge drop for the hype of Rated RKO (a full 5 man team of Team D-X anhilated Team Rated RKO). This match will be set up to end their feud, and I'm guessing the falls will be: 1st Fall - Elimination, 2nd Fall - Street Fight, 3rd Fall - Steel Cage. I love Orton, and it's great to see him as a champion again. Because NYR 07 is in his home town I'm guessing that Orton will win and go on to win the Rumble match. The 1st Fall will go to Orton and Edge, the 2nd Fall to D-X, and the 3rd Fall to Orton and Edge again. Rated RKO need to come out on top of this feud.
WINNERS: WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS RATED RKO
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
MICKIE JAMES (C) VS. MARIA
Mickie won the title at Survivor Series (WWE insulted Lita by stripping her of the title in her last match, despite the fact she had been in the business longer than Trish Stratus, who got a huge goodbye ceremony), and will retain it here tonight against Maria. Short, sweet, and great on the eyes lol.
JERRY 'THE KING' LAWLER VS. SHELTON BENJAMIN (OR SOME JOBBER)
'The King' has been in a match at the last two NYR events. I expect Lawler to win, regardless as to who he faces. Long live 'The King'!
FATAL FOUR-WAY MATCH FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
JEFF HARDY (C) VS. CARLITO VS. JOHNNY NITRO VS. RIC FLAIR
This is a guess, but would be a solid match. Carlito should win a good athletic match and become the new I.C. Champion, but I could see Flair getting the win as well. Either way Hardy will lose the title here.
WINNER: CARLITO/ RIC FLAIR (NEW I.C. CHAMPION) | |
