The Model 3031EF PCI softmodem outperforms earlier V.90 modems by
implementing both V.92 and V.44 standard technology. The V.92
standard supports Modem-On-Hold, Quick Connect and faster upload
speeds. The enhanced V.44 compression standard delivers higher
speed WEB browsing. Both standards combine for an improved Internet
user experience. The Model 3031EF is RoHS Lead free compliant.
The Model 3031EF is Zoom's lowest-cost 56K modem. It is designed for
use in Windows-based systems with a minimum of a 266 MHz processor.
The Model 3031EF is a host-based modem, which uses the Central
Processing Unit (CPU) of the computer in which the modem is
installed to perform controller and data pump functions.
The Model 3031EF is fully compatibile with all features of the
latest V.92/V.44 international standards and will also communicate
at V.90 and slower speeds.
The F designation in the model number indicates the product is compliant
with Restriction on Hazardous Substance (RoHS) regulations and can be
used on systems shipped into the EU.
